On 15th December 2022, Spencer & Co conducted Legal Aid Booth on the topic of "What You Should Know After A Death: The Laws of Will-Making & Estate Planning" to help all UUM communities with the questions regarding wassiyah/will execution in Malaysia.

During the 3 hours of our Legal Aid services, we successfully attracted the attention from UUM communities from different background, ethnic, race and occupation and provides legal knowledge regarding wassiyah/will besides solving the doubt which concerning by them.
Objectives
To educate the UUM community on the jurisdiction of relevant administrative bodies and the governing Acts in executing a will or wasiyyah.
To raise awareness among the UUM community on the significance of making a valid will or wasiyyah before a person passes away and the requirements for the validity of a will executed by both Muslims and non-Muslims to determine the distribution of estates based on the rules of testament.
To increase the understanding of the UUM community about the concept and procedures in estate administration division in the event of testacy and/or intestacy.
Details on the Legal Aid Booth
During the legal aid booth, all members work together to help in explaining to the visitors of our booth on matters pertaining to the making of wills. The members also will answer every questions asked by the visitor as to ensure that the visitors are able to understand better on the matters at hand. Basically, all members explained on the importance of having a will, the law governing it as well as showing example of a will to the visitors so they can see how a will looks like. Overall, the legal booth was held successfully and all visitors satisfied with our help.
